STUCO leadership day (9/8/16)
So a lot of people were skeptical of our STUCO leadership day, joking that we would be lounging around at Starbucks with Pmitch. As interesting as that may sound, that wasn't the case. The five of us sat in a conference room discussing STUCO goals with a business leader who happens to also be a Seisen parent, Mr. Guilfoile. We had also met with Mr. Mitchell and Mr. Guilfoile in early June, setting out our goals prior to the start of this new school year. This additional leadership day was like a check up session as well as a final decision making process.
As you can tell from the video, we started off the day going through a power point with Mr. Guilfoile, picking out main goals we set out for this school year. Since there have been many new rules and changes added to Seisen this school year, we went back and modified some of these goals as well. At the moment, we have three main goals that will be presented to you all soon.
After going through the slides, we started inspiration boards where we stuck big sticky notes concerning different ideas related to our three main goals. We wrote down any ideas we heard from the student body and included our own opinions to develop the different goals. This helped us views each goal as a whole and allowed us to figure out how to approach each one.
Then we started constructing a timeline to manage each of these goals. Additionally, we started drafting different proposals. Because you see, getting one event done may seem pretty casual. However, it's a long process of drafting arguments and proposals, meeting with various administrative members (and convincing them), meeting with one another and incorporating Mr. Mitchell's advice, etc. We're not complaining at all, we're just here to explain the necessity of having STUCO leadership days, as it's a long process to accomplish what may seem like smaller changes and events.
HOWEVER, please note that we do have big events and changes in store... I'll release some newer ideas later on in another post, so stay tuned!!!!! As always, any new ideas for this website, let me know 😁
